An ever expanding collection of projects that I've worked on.
This is a recent addition to my website, so I'm populating the page as and when I get the inspiration! I'm also managing the blog via an editor I built with pretty much 100% assistance from ChatGPT. I'll eventually make that available to anyone else that manually manages their own site and needs a way of keeping a blog-style page up to date without having to dive into the html every time they need to add a post or make an edit.
Prototype Brass Tone-knob
14 August 2026
A quick prototype project made using my Super 7 lathe and engraved on the mini-mill.
A bunch of things I'm not happy with, BUT it'll give the customer a good idea on what adjustments are necessary if a handful of these are to be made in the future.
Chunky Kahler Bridge Shim
A bread and butter job for a local guitar maker who needed a 5.5mm shim plate making for a Kahler bridge. Made from 5030 aluminium tool plate, it'll be getting a black powder coat to match the bridge that it'll be shimming.
Resin / Hardener Calculator
I've been using ChatGPT to help me code simple(ish) browser-based helpers for various things. Just finished this little calculator tool. The idea is you've premixed some resin with pigment and have a bottle of it stashed for later use. Save the mix parameters and then when you come to next use it, decant what you need, load the mix from the library and the tool tells you how much hardener to use based on its resin content. Includes a useful 8, 30 or 45 minute timer and a way to re-balance the mix should you over-pour the hardener.
It's a bit frivolous, but I've used it and it's kinda cool at the same time! Here's a screen-shot:

REME Plaques
I've had the pleasure of being commissioned to make several plaques for the REME as gifts to commemorate the posting of an officer commanding.
Here are a handful of work in progress pics.
Black Dog Moto BMW Badges
A pair of custom badges made for Ronnie at www.blackdogmoto.com/
Believe it or not - Brad Pitt bought this actual bike.

Miscellaneous Items
There's quite a lot of 'stuff' that gets made just for the love of making it - sometimes it's for friends, sometimes it's to demonstrate what's possible when chasing a bigger project. There's a few of both of those in this gallery.
Northman Badges
Jonathan Hull approached me for a couple of sets of solid brass tank badges for two of his recent builds, a Northman GB350s and a Northman CB200 - see more details over on his site: www.jonathanhull.co.uk/northman
Jonathan supplied me with a 3D scan of the GB350s tank so that I could match the backs of the badges to the shape of the tank. That was new territory for me, but the results are pretty good.

Pouring With Heart
One of my biggest commissions - a set of 'Mission Statement' resin filled brass plaques for a chain of high end bars out in LA. I'm led to believe that a handful of the bars had served as locations in the Mad Men series (which I adored!)
Each plaque had around 4 hours of machine time in it before a long and laborious process of abrading, polishing and meticulous cleaning prior to the pouring of resin.
This work was commissioned by https://unitedcreatives.com/
Guitar Bits and Pieces
Quite a few of the things I make are custom bits and pieces for folks looking to either repair or customise their guitars. This can be anything from the basics: a custom pick-guard or a neck-plate, right through to bridges, inlays and bodies. All-sorts, really. Here's an assortment.
1950 MGA Badge
This was a badge made to replace the original 1600 on an MGA after it had its engine upgraded to a 1950.
911E Deck Badge
Cool little aluminium deck badge I made for a 911 being converted to electric by www.retroelectrics.co.uk/
3D modelled, machined from billet with mounting spigots to the rear. Once cut it gets abraded/relaxed and then polished up before a splash of resin gets added.
Here's a short video clip of some of the machining - it's not that interesting, but I'm trying out the embedding function in my DIY journal publisher...

Studio AVA Keyfobs & Hood Badge
A set of six bespoke and individually numbered brass key-fobs along with a hood badge made for www.studioava.com
The keyfobs are in brass (tumbled to a satin finish) and the hood badge in aluminium and resin.

Rolls Royce Self Promotional Coaster
After making two sets of coasters for The American Bar at London's Savoy Hotel, I produced several similar styled one-offs for three or four prestige brands and attempted to catch the attention of various decision makers in the hope of sending them a sample, but to no avail - does anyone even check their messages anymore..?
I eventually sent it over to @MrCrispinEnterprises - a YouTuber who himself is an employee of the mighty RR. Check out his channel - he creates quality (somewhat niche) engineering based content, sprinkled with a bit of humour.
Materials: Corian, brass and resin.
